Grow tasty tomatoes in a hanging planter

There are several varieties of tomato which are well suited to growing in hanging baskets or planters particularly the smaller fruiting types. Choose a sunny, sheltered spot for your planter and keep the plants well watered.

Step 1

Mix together compost and slow release fertiliser.

Step 2

Place a handful of this mixture in the bottom of the planter, insert plants into each of the first level of ready made holes, follow with more compost mix.

Step 3

Carry on placing the plants and compost ending with a plant in the top of the planter.

Step 4

Water well and allowing it to drain thoroughly before hanging in place.
