There are several varieties of tomato which are well suited to growing in hanging baskets or planters particularly the smaller fruiting types. Choose a sunny, sheltered spot for your planter and keep the plants well watered.
Mix together compost and slow release fertiliser. Â
Place a handful of this mixture in the bottom of the planter, insert plants into each of the first level of ready made holes, follow with more compost mix.
Carry on placing the plants and compost ending with a plant in the top of the planter. Â
Water well and allowing it to drain thoroughly before hanging in place.
